Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed following standard protocol and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer stated in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a top government figure has encountered mechanical issues.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to return to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
