Salah Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match after voicing frustrations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
The manager has chosen not to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
He also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “It's clear there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
Their results have been impressive in the games following the situation. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and on a positive run.”
