This event led to the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A young child was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
